OYOO: One Year, One Outfit (completed Spring 2023)
At the beginning of 2022 I decided to participate in the Rust Belt Fibershed’s One Year, One Outfit challenge. This challenge requires an individual or team to design, source and create one outfit (defined as 3 distinct garments or accessories) within 250 miles of where they live.
My goals for the project are to connect with the local producers in my fibershed, build community, learn new skills (weaving and felting) and use this as a vehicle for conversation about the speed and globalization of the current fashion system.
